Clinical Support Services

Clinical Support Services is a community based extension of the clinical services provided to children and families at MFS.  Should a child or family require additional support or intervention to implement the goals on the child’s Individual Service Plan then a Community Family Service Associate may be assigned.

  • In order to receive the service a referral must be made by the Community and Family Service Specialist who then works closely with the Service Associate to ensure the services are well coordinated.
  • Services may be provided in the provider’s home or out in the community and are reimbursed by Medicaid, some insurance plans or a sliding fee is available.

Clinical Support Services can be delivered in a variety of ways.  The actual intervention is called Functional Support Services or FSS.

Community FSS – Services are provided by the Community and Family Service Associate out in the community or in the child’s home.

In-Home FSS – Services are provided by the Community and Family Service Associate in the provider’s home or out in the community.

Overnight FSS – Services are provided by the Community and Family Service Associate in the provider’s home for overnight visits which usually consist of two overnights/month.  Provider has current foster parent license.

Family Treatment Home – This service is offered in a time of crisis in order to stabilize the child and avoid a more restrictive placement.  The stay can last 1-14 days in the provider’s home and is continually reviewed for effectiveness.  Provider has current foster parent license.

Client Success Story

Dealing with Teenage Drinking

Jeff Drake, parent educator and a facilitator of guiding choices at Monadnock Family Services, responded to a column in The Keene Sentinel dealing with underage drinking issues. He commended The Sentinel for tackling this difficult issue and offered two concrete steps parents can take to solve the problem of underage drinking.

Understanding Military Culture

Monadnock Family Services was a sponsor for a day-long program in Keene – one of nine statewide – to help mental health professionals achieve a better understanding of military culture. The program was conducted with leadership from the New Hampshire National Guard as Guardsmen and Reservists and their families prepare for the largest deployment of troops in the state’s history.
